Bereavement

Is this for real or a waking dream?
What was once has ceased ...
I draw the curtain and make the bed.
Putting the memories to rest in peace.
Decorated and garlanded with the best of flowers,
Whilst the smell of incense conceals the stench of grief...
Death, so beautiful! Oh death, so divine!
The breaker of egos, the crumbler of dreams!
None sheds a tear after going through the obituary,
Not a shoulder to carry the last remains!
The world is selfish but death does not discriminate...
It will come for the pauper, the begger and the King!
As I embalm the corpse of deceased emotions,
And gulp down the wine of wasted tears...
Your coffin, of the finest teak wood is ready,
I hope you enjoy your journey to the next realm...
