FADE

Faces lost in albums, and all those silent wars!
Too late for a settlement, please don’t caress my scars!
I have bundled up my belongings to move so far away,
Where your thoughts shall not linger and I’ll be gone astray!
The flames of love that burnt me also got me reformed,
I rise from my own ashes to fight against these storms…
Don’t expect me to shed tears, for my eyes have run dry…
I have left no reason to mourn; I have lost the mood to cry!
I only hope you don’t regret the choices you have made,
I only wish you would try to reach me before I fade….

THE KITE

I was flying high in the summer when the sky was clear
The blues reflected in your eyes..No place for grief, no place for fear!
I swayed along the western winds, spreading my multi-color wings.
The joy that filled up your heart when you played with my feeble strings!
You may hold me up in your hands, but for how long?
The strings attached to me aren't that strong!
Right now it may be playing along dear,
But the next minute be snapped and gone!

With the coming of the winter when dampness shrouds my skin
I’m too frail hearted to spread my slender wings!
The mists blur up the vast sky that I once so proudly reigned,
While time devours my vibrancy and all my colors go faint!
So I lay secluded and buried in a dusty corner of your room,
Someday I might as well be swept along by your ruthless broom!
Be crumbled and tore into pieces one could hardly count,
And never shall I see the sky, for my existence will be doomed!

ODE TO THE DICTATOR

Perhaps it was too late for a word...
It was either the noose or the sword!
To slain and stifle the guilt out of you,
A stream of blood gushes, thy veins are blue!
This proclaims the end of an oppression
And the freedom of the slaves thee owned
These petty folks shall take thy place someday,
And resume the historical trend of depression!

They can kill a dictator but not his habits,
Slain a monster but not his legends...
The legacy you started passes on and on!
It inflicts upon a whole new generation!
Your posters hung up on their walls,
Your pictures printed in their shirts,
Your biography sold by the street,
And yet these fools say that you’re gone!

Diamonds

You said you have a mine full of diamonds
Untouched, unexploited..reserved for me
But I know, many maidens went there before
Dug it out and adorned themselves...
I can still hear the echoes of dangling necklaces
Little whispers and cries of pleasure...
The brightness emanating from these charms,
Have blinded innumerable foolish eyes till now
And now you want me to give in to them...
So that I surrender myself to your plans
But I’ve seen the reflection of your true face,
In the same diamonds you want to flatter me with!
I don’t want these illusory endowments any longer
I will follow the stars and move as far as I can...
You can entice another lady to your allurement.

Desire

Surprised to see you here before me,

I only saw you on the screen till now!

Even if I pinch myself in my dreams,

I wouldn’t want to wake up anyhow!

You’ve spinned a web of matrix around,

And I’m stuck somewhere as a bait...

As you come closer,my heart pounds faster

Consume me! Your little prey can’t wait!

As your hypnotic gaze catches my eyes,

A fleck of uneasiness rattles my spine...

Paralysed by your vicious magnetism,

Nothing else, but only you seem divine!

Desire has taken over my heart and mind,

As if I’m addicted to the strongest wine!

Never in my life had I felt this vulnerable,

That I’m even ready to be your concubine!

I can spend this moment as an eternity

And nothing else matters this day

You can graciously hunt me down,

I’m ever ready to be your wilful prey!

Strike your fangs in my slender neck...

As I moan out little words of pleasure

This is perhaps love, or maybe lust

But it’s a feeling I could never measure!

THE SINNER

Blame it on me...

I’ll plead Guilty

I surrender myself to your chains

Let the light descend on me

The light I don’t wish to see...

As I close my eyes I feel your slash in my skin.

Oh, I bleed all over!

These wounds heal my soul...

I hope I have settled my debt

I’m all yours if you need more...

Splash it on me...

I’ll plead guilty

Your aquatic fury nourishes my wounds

Let the heat get consumed in my flesh

Burning red and black till I’m a carcass

As I laugh aloud out of this soothing pain...

Oh, I burn all over

This pain heals my soul

I hope I have settled my debt,

And if not, I have nothing else to implore.

LOVE AND WAR

Dwindling in the icy course of the roads that never met

Yet trying her best to remember what he said...

Her feet are sore, her clothes torn... yet she goes on

With the end of this aching night comes a blissful morn

The wrath of the winter lord has made this place so still,

No signs of life, no trace of joy...Just this blistering chill

The only hint of life being she, the lady in pure white

As if an angel of the arctic, as if the winter’s bride...

Just a few miles ahead her suitor plays his flute

Amidst a war-torn scene, in the kingdom of the brute!

Counting his last hours, immersed in sweet memories,

Of the times he spent together with his beloved lady.

Her pretty face flushing pink in love before his eyes...

And no he won’t pinch himself lest it shall make him cry

But tears did glide his weary cheeks and even her pallid face....

Love hast conquered this heartless war, all by the lord’s grace!
